Not all spirits are nice; the traditions of Halloween promote honoring the dead while at the same time chasing off these evil spirits [historically speaking]. Other traditions such as the apple bob were used to determine who young girls would marry. When the sun leaves the sky in fall - so does life, figuratively speaking, until the return of spring. Halloween is a time of remembering our ancestors, reminding ourselves of own mortality, seeking closure and planing for the future, when the sun, life returns. Very similar to Latin America's Dias de Muertas. Honouring the dead, enjoying the fruits of the labours, and part of a pagan faith that has been around thousands of years before Christianity. Learn about the pagan roots of the holidays. Get your head out of your ass, and get educated! Knowledge is power. The scariest part of Halloween isn't anything decoration or costumes or even the candy and it is the demonic influence we open ourselves and our home up to unaware...and the scarier part is how deceived even Christians are about how the enemy truly is...oh many many say' it's a kids holiday, give it a rest.' I say this...it's no holiday or celebration but an observance of death, demonic and evil beyond what even any movie has ever portrayed; it is far from anything Godly.<br /><br />"If you decide that it's a bad thing to worship God, then choose a god you'd rather serve—and do it today. Choose one of the gods your ancestors worshiped from the country beyond The River, or one of the gods of the Amorites, on whose land you're now living. As for me and my family, we'll worship God." -- Joshua 24:15Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3381224391260954323.post-42365223993560711572011-09-20T11:44:27.547-07:002011-09-20T11:44:27.547-07:00I consider the scariest part of Halloween the peop...I consider the scariest part of Halloween the people who are against it.<br />This is why it's extra important to celebrate Halloween. My day consists of getting off early and dressing my son up as an animal or action hero and rolling around the neighborhood smiling and talking to neighbors. We also carve pumpkins and make seasonal snacks. We decorate some. Harvest stuff and mythical beings. Many holidays involve mythical beings.
